Out of town review: we are coming in for a camping experience along the Klamath river and we yelp'd a place for breakfast and ended up at J and D's. I can't tell you how pleasantly surprised we were at the staff and how welcoming they were to outsiders (they even gave me the name and phone number to a rafting company near by for our family, 6 in total, to go rafting)!
And the food? INCREDIBLE!!! Priced at a reduced rate of about $10 per plate (we usually expect about $15 per)... I had the Flying Biscuits with the loaded hash browns on the high recommendation from the waitress and it did not disappoint (ask for Tammy)!!! The chicken fried steak and gravy amazing with an egg inside of two biscuits, oh wow!!! I had to share with my kids, the portions were so large! I think it was $10.95 with a $3 add on for the loaded hash... well worth it!!!
I totally recommend for locals and non-locals! Have you ever felt like an outsider by those serving you? I have, but NOT HERE!!! If you are hungry and on a tight budget and like great food, COME HERE (but closed on Tuesdays). Enjoy, you will not regret it!!!
Thank you J&D!!! -

This Diner is a fantastic place to eat.
Today I had the Bison Bacon Cheeseburger. AWESOME. My Wife had the Turkey Melt.
I love to eat at Diners.
Their service is great and the prices are very reasonable. Worth every penny.
You can't beat their Breakfast. Lots of food. I, normally, can't finish the meal.
You have to give it a try
I don't think you'll be disappointed. -

Had breakfast twice (different days), and have no complaints about the quality of the food or the service itself. But I noticed there were no blue or yellow sweeteners for coffee -- only sugar and the horrible pink saccharine. I asked the waitress, and was told that, some time ago, they had noticed some people stealing blue/yellow packets, and were so angered by it that they stopped putting them out. They won't even carry them behind the counter, to be served on request.
What's the story? Some people are dishonest, steal 50 cents worth of sweetener, and you decide to punish every single other customer forever for it? When you own a business, you're always going to have at least some petty theft on occasion -- you can't run your cafe on hate and spite. -

My wife and I loved our Breakfast here!!! Friendly service and absolutely delicious food. I had the Patty sausage with eggs and biscuits and gravy - yum!! My wife loved the Ribeye steak and eggs. We will be back!

If you're ever passing through Yreka, please make sure to give this diner a try. The food was really delicious and service was very friendly. Set in a pretty and remote region with rolling hills and woodland in the background.
